Setup an online project

Here are some things you have to consider if you are planning to do an online Passion to Purpose Project.

What is your passion?

Before you start, you have to know what you want to do. What is your passion? Is it baking? music? coding? film-making?

Once you have identified your passion, you have to define activities or skills you want to impart to your community. For example, if your passion is baking, do you want to teach recipes? Or, do you want to teach specific baking techniques? Another example would be, if you are an aspiring flim-maker, creating a documentary or a short film and showing it online can be a project you can do.

You also have to think about how your project will create a meaningful impact in your community.

When you have defined this, you need to know to successfully deliver your project to your community, which brings us to the next topic.

What are the tools you need?

What do you need to successfully deliver your project to your community and audience?

There are so many tools that you can use to deliver your project online. There are free tools and even paid tools. You can consider some of these platforms:

Youtube

A free online platform where you can upload videos. If you know how to edit videos, you can definitely be creative in delivering your project here.

Online conference platforms

These are very handy tools if you would like to do workshops or live tutorials. You can use platforms like Zoom or Google Meet which have free plans. But, if the free plans won’t work for your project, you can definitely use a part of your grant money to purchase a plan.

Spread the Word

Invite your community and friends to attend or view your online project via social media. This is a great way to create traction about your upcoming project.

Make sure that your links are working. Always double check as broken links will lead your audience to an empty page and we want them to have a satisfactory experience on your project.

Pro-tip:

Create an online registration form so you can track and monitor your viewers. At the end of the project, you would know your number of participants which will be asked during reporting upon finishing your project.
